Why I use it

I use this supplement to help support my lungs against the effects of air pollutants and low-level inflammation from mild asthma and allergies. I also like to have this as another source of powerful antioxidants to add to the variety I have in my diet and other supplements.

It is very important to protect the lungs against chronic inflammation. Over the course of a lifetime, the lungs can be very badly damaged by this. For example, it's not uncommon to find people with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) who have never smoked but developed it through a lifetime of un-controlled mild asthma.

There are many things you can do to help support the health of your lungs, and it's never too late to start. This is especially important if you have asthma, a history of smoking, or exposure to dust and pollutants in your everyday life. Examples include minimising exposure to pollution and dust, being regular with appropriate cardiovascular exercise, doing stretches for the lungs, ribcage upper back, taking care of your posture to prevent postural lung restrictions, and of course careful use of any required inhalers or medications prescribed to you. And don't smoke! These examples are just to illustrate how supplements form part of a bigger picture.

Air pollution is a big problem for most of the world's population now. This can be very damaging to the delicate lung tissue and cells in general. In fact, the World Health Organisation (WHO) suggest that worldwide 4.2 million deaths every year occur as a result of exposure to ambient (outdoor) air pollution, 3.8 million deaths every year as a result of household exposure and that 91% of the world’s population lives in places where poor air quality exceeds WHO guideline limits. You can find out more about air pollution on the WHO website. (These figures were taken from their website on 19/04/20)

  • A blend of four organic medicinal mushrooms. 2g/serving. Provide a range of complex anti-oxidants and other properties. • New Zealand grape seed extract. 200mg/serving. Some of the most active components of grape seed extracts are called oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes (OPCs).
