Sports Physiotherapy

We treat athletes from recreational and regional levels all the way through to Olympic and international competition level.

No matter what level you're currently at you can take advantage of our clinical skills and first-hand athletics expertise and experience. We not only help athletes with sports injuries, but also with maintenance of sports performance.

Sports physio is designed to maximise your body's potential in movement and exercise, through preventing and treating injury and teaching how to exercise and move properly.

We specialise in the following sports but are able to treat no matter what the activity.
  • Running - especially lower limb problems such as shin splints
  • Tennis
  • Gymnastics
  • Climbing
For more serious athletes, sports physiotherapy can include combinations of treatment: pre, during and post event/training, detailed musculoskeletal assessments, preventive treatment and a fast response to injury - all of which we can supply.

Ideally, sports physio includes working with coaches and other medical team members for the enhancement/maintenance of performance and minimising an athlete's 'downtime'. If this is important to you (or your athlete) we can discuss this at your first visit or call us to speak to Paul, our sports physio.

Alongside sports physio, anyone who undergoes regular training can also benefit greatly from regular sports massage treatments. This can be useful for the following reasons:

  • Problems which are not yet showing symptoms can be picked up before they become limiting
  • The athlete has regular re-inforcement that they take their training seriously and are looking after themselves
  • Training sessions can be talked over during treatment allowing potential problem areas to be discovered
  • Sports massage leaves people feeling re-energised and motivated to get back to training
