Which health supplements do I use?
People often ask me about which supplements I use to support my health and athletic training. For a number of years now I use the supplements from Xtend-Life listed below because of their purity, quality and ingredient choices. I've linked to each to make it easier for you to read more.
Omega 3 DHA/EPA fish oil
Xtend-Life's omega 3 fish oil is ultra pure and has very high levels of DHA and EPA which are the two specific omega 3's to look for in a fish oil. It is free from contaminants and marine pollution. I sometimes use the "Omega 3 QH Ultra" version which also contains lycopene, astaxanthin and a specific form of co-enzyme Q10.
This contains 48 bioavailable vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and other special nutrients such as green tea extract, MSM and zeaxanthin. You can read about the ingredients in more detail on their website.
Lung Support Plus
Mushrooms are the new thing in health news. This supplement contains a special blend of four organic medicinal mushrooms and 200mg of highly anti-oxidant New Zealand grape seed extract. The mushrooms used are the Chaga, Cordyceps, Reishi and Turkey Tail mushrooms. This is the Lung-Support-Plus product page. I personally don't have un-healthy lungs but it's a great product.
Green Lipped Mussel Powder
Xtend-life's Green Lipped Mussel Powder contains glycosaminoglycans, chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine, along with omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids and other nutrients. Xtend-Life have their own grower of green lipped mussels in an ultra-pure New Zealand sound, and the mussels are harvested at the correct time of their life-cycle and processed in order to retain the unique nutrient complex they contain. A full-on natural supplement.
I like these supplements because they are each in their own right excellent but together they cover a broad spectrum of nutrients with a broad range of benefits from anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory, to metabolic support. I think the secret is to have a broad range of quality nutrients, long-term, in appropriate doses rather than ultra doses of one or two nutrients only over a short period.
